Zebra Safari Lodge

Zebra Safari Lodge is a mid-range lodge in Uganda, situated in the Lake Mburo area of Lake Mburo National Park. Rwakobo Rock is built on a natural rocky outcrop at the edge of Lake Mburo National Park, approximately five minutes from the Nshara Gate. The lodge is family-run and takes an eco-friendly approach, including the use of purified water on site. Accommodation is spread across several buildings: Hornbill House (with five rooms), Monkey Cottage, additional standalone cottages, and safari tents — giving a range of options from solid-walled rooms to canvas-under-thatch.

The swimming pool overlooks the Nshara ranchlands and the park boundary, while the dining area has views of a watering hole frequented by zebra, warthog, impala, and bushbuck. This combination of a lodge that doubles as a wildlife viewpoint is one of Rwakobo's distinguishing features. Fast internet is available, and the kitchen offers vegetarian options alongside standard Ugandan and international dishes.

Activities run both by day and after dark: game drives, walking safaris, cycling safaris through the park, night drives, Bahima cultural visits, birdwatching (Lake Mburo is one of Uganda's stronger birding sites), volleyball, and stargazing from the kopje. Lake Mburo is the closest savannah national park to Kampala, making Rwakobo a practical stop on routes heading southwest toward Bwindi or Queen Elizabeth.
