About the Region
Entebbe is a leafy peninsula town on the northern shore of Lake Victoria, about 40 km from Kampala. It is home to Uganda's only international airport and is the first and last stop for most visitors to the country.
The town has a relaxed, low-key atmosphere quite different from bustling Kampala. Attractions include the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre (zoo), the Entebbe Botanical Gardens, and sandy beaches along the lake. There is a good range of hotels and guesthouses from budget to high-end, making it a convenient place to spend a night before or after safari.
