About Mihingo Lodge

Mihingo Lodge is built on a 500-million-year-old pre-Cambrian granite kopje adjacent to Lake Mburo National Park, with panoramic views across the savannah and down to a waterhole and valley below. The lodge blends into its rocky surroundings by design, using the natural contours of the hillside to integrate the buildings into the landscape. An infinity pool overlooking the valley and waterhole is the centrepiece of the common area.

What distinguishes Mihingo from other lodges in Uganda is its activity range, particularly the horseback safari. Mihingo is the only place in Uganda where visitors can ride horses inside a national park — a unique way to experience the savannah alongside zebras, impalas, elands, and other wildlife. Walking safaris with giraffes, guided walking safaris, night game drives, boat trips on Lake Mburo, mountain biking, and conventional game drives are also offered, making this one of the most activity-diverse lodges in the country.

The lodge is eco-friendly in its construction and operations, using the natural rock formations as part of the building structure and maintaining a low visual impact on the hillside. Mihingo is well suited for active travelers who want more than a standard game drive experience, and for couples or photographers drawn to the elevated kopje setting with its wide savannah views.
