About Sipi River Lodge

Sipi River Lodge sits on 17 acres of private land on the slopes of Mount Elgon in eastern Uganda, incorporating the 80-metre Kapsururu Falls within its grounds. The lodge overlooks the main Sipi Falls — one of a series of three waterfalls in the area — and the views from the restaurant and room verandas take in both the falls and the plains stretching out below.

Accommodation includes two luxury cottages — Aniet and Kapsurur — each with en suite bathrooms featuring double showers, king-size beds, twin beds, a lounge, and a private veranda. Standard rooms are also available for travelers on a tighter budget. The restaurant serves meals with direct waterfall views, and the surrounding coffee-growing area provides the basis for the lodge's popular coffee tours, which follow the process from cherry to cup.

Activities based from the lodge include hiking the three Sipi Falls, rock climbing, abseiling down the cliff face near the falls, trout fishing, and coffee tours through local farms. The lodge is also a starting point for treks into Mount Elgon National Park. Sipi River Lodge is well suited for travelers interested in eastern Uganda's landscapes and for those who want an active stay combining waterfalls, coffee culture, and mountain scenery.
